ABOUT
Federico Montaresi, aka Trasparente (Italy, 1994), is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher working across video, installation, instant photography, and new media.
Following a near-death experience in 2016, his practice began exploring reality in its most direct form, focusing on the energy within gestures, professions, natural phenomena, and the fluid perception of time.
He studied Painting, Cinema and Video at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, and Digital Art at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. His work has been exhibited internationally across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East, including at GNAMC in Rome and the Civic Museum of Livorno. In 2025, he was awarded third place at the Talent Prize.
His works are held in several public and private collections, including CAMeC, the Carnico Museum, the Senate of the Italian Republic, MoCA Museum Shanghai, UCCA Museum Beijing, MoCA Taipei.
He currently lives and works between Italy and China, where he also teaches Digital Video and New Media.
